Dealers to install Vulcan On-Board Scales. On new vehicles, Vulcan is
offered as optional equipment by all quality trailer and body manufacturers.
Installers have been trained by Vulcan factory representatives to assure
your installation meets our high standards. Some Vulcan products, like
our air scale for air-ride suspensions, can easily be installed by most
truck operators.

On-Board Scales are manufactured by Stress-Tek, Inc., a company that
started in 1978 near Seattle, Washington. Originally founded to provide
professional consulting services in the fields of transducer design
and experimental stress analysis, our operations have expanded to the

The
original Vulcan On-Board Scales were developed over a decade ago when
Stress-Tek responded to the needs of the logging industry for a better
on-board weighing system. The Vulcan double shear beam (DSB) load cell
was designed to meet the harsh demands of the Northwest logger. It has
received several patents and has set new standards for accuracy and
durability.
The
Vulcan V200 meter and electronics system was the first two wire, 12
volt digital electronics weighing system for on-board applications.
This new design virtually eliminated the cable and moisture problems
in the truck / trailer connector that were causing other electronic
